Waterloo Ontario:

 Waterloo, Ontario is preferred by many for its basic facilities that are provided here like schools, hospitals, parks and so on. It is in real a better place to live in than other cities of Canada. Here we are going to discuss some facts and features of this city:

Education:

Once there was a time when very few students of berlin/Kitchener were able to attend school (1960s). in 1914 a high school department was developed named College School, main mission of this school was to provide secondary education to students. By 2007 there were only five high schools in Waterloo out of which three (Bluevale Collegiate Institute, Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary School, and waterloo colligate Institute) were operated by Waterloo Region District School Board and two (Waterloo Catholic District School Board:  Resurrection Catholic ( Secondary School) and St. David Catholic (Secondary School).

Waterloo University and Wilfrid Laurier main campuses are in waterloo. There are many universities and colleges that are associated with these universities i.e. St. Jerome’s University, St. Paul’s University College, Conrad Grebel University College, Renison University College and Balsilliie School of International affairs. Conestoga College is also present in Waterloo; Conestoga purchased this building in 2006 from waterloo District within $6 million. 

Hospitals:

Waterloo hospitals are Grand River Hospital (835 king St. w., Kitchener), St. Mary’s General Hospital (911 Queen’s Blvd., Kitchener, Cambridge memorial hospital (700 coronation Blvd., Cambridge) and Freeport Campus, Grand River Hospital (3570 king St. e., Kitchener). In 2009 a new school of medicine was opened in Waterloo named as Regional Campus of McMaster University. In 2008 lab was constructed with, a complete on-site clinical skills laboratory with 4 skills room and 2 observation rooms, classrooms with the facility of video conference and state-of-the-art anatomy lab and was completed in 2013. University of Optometry and Vision Science is also there in waterloo.

Public parks and community centers:

Amazing parks and community centers are present in Waterloo, Ontario. Iron Horse Trail, is 7km natural trail in Waterloo, this trail connects Kitchener with waterloo. This natural trail shows beautiful scenes and runs along with many water bodies and Victoria Lake, the Schneider Creek and many other parks. Huron Natural Area is spread over area of 107 hectare. It is a perfect place for nature lovers, photographers, trail walkers and families.

Real estate:

Housing market in Waterloo is growing day by day due to increase in demand of houses. The prices increase approximately 10.6 and 8.9 percent in May and June respectively. According to KWAR’s, house prices were nearly $533,619 in Waterloo. Average price for  detached homes was $618,186 and condos price was $332,716. Average price for townhome was $411,126. In 2019, 3154 homes were sold in Waterloo and nearby areas. Increase in price and number of house listing  is not very much, it was just 5 per cent increase in new listing last month. There were 890 active listings in market throughout the Waterloo market at the end of last month.
